ASEM does not have budget-funded places for persons from flood-hit areas
The Academy of Sciences of Moldova provides budget-funded places for orphans, but does not available places for young persons from the flood-stricken villages, the institution’s rector Grigore Belostecinic said in a meeting at the Ministry of Education. One day earlier, the Government announced the young people living in the affected areas will be provided with student awards and accommodated at university dormitories free of charge, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I’m afraid I’ll have to refuse these children as we do not have available budget-funded places,” the rector said. Minister of Education Leonid Bujor stated they will return to the issue when he will have the list of the students living in the flood-hit areas.
After the July 14 meeting of the Government that was held in Nemteni village of Hancesti district, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said besides student awards and free accommodation, 200 persons aged between 16 and 26 from the affected areas will benefit from free tickets to rest in Romania in August. The Ministry of Education is to select them.
