The team of the Academy of Economic Studies (ASEM) became the women’s basketball champion of Moldova on April 17. In the decisive match, the squad trained by Vasile Scutelnic beat the similar team of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) 66-62, Info-Prim Neo reports. Olga Cazac scored 30 points for the winning team, while Anastasia Sureadnova – 32 for UTM. Earlier, ASEM won Moldova’s Cup. The teams of Tiraspol and Soroca are fighting for the bronze medal. The quarterfinal matches are being played in the men’s competition. Among the favorites for the title of champion are the teams of the Agrarian University of Moldova (UASM), ASEM, UTM and Gama Cahul.
