The 14 MPs who left the Party of Communists (PCRM) on December 21 will not go to discuss with the candidate for Prime Minister Ion Sturza, one of the 14 lawmakers said in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Artur Reshetnikov made it clear that he and the other 13 MPs who left the PCRM will not vote Ion Sturza. “Nicolae Timofti, by this nomination, makes the political crisis worse. He drew the early parliamentary elections closer. It’s loss of time. It’s known who wants these elections to take place. But the early elections are dangerous for the country. First of all, we do not have a government. There is a risk that the pensions and salaries will be paid with delay. At foreign level, the situation is not better. It’s clear that this candidate was designated in secret. We need a powerful Prime Minister, not a person whose name is associated with the end of the 1990s,” he stated.

The former Communist heavyweight noted that he and the other 13 colleagues are ready to have discussions with all the parties, including the PLDM and PL. “We want to discuss with all the parties that are ready to accept our proposals. We must forget about the political disagreements and work for the people’s welfare,” he said.

Artur Reshetnikov also said that he and his colleagues are ready to vote a government, but do not demand to be included in it. “Our goal is not to take part in governance, but to overcome the crisis,” he stated.

In the evening of December 21, the first deputy head of the PDM Vladimir Plahotniuc had a meeting with the 14 lawmakers. This lasted for almost three hours. When going out, Plahotniuc avoided making statements, saying they are holding discussions for now. The Democrats’ leader Marian Lupu said the party will not meet with the candidate for premiership and will not vote Ion Sturza.
