Artur Reshetnikov and his wife refuse to cooperate with the investigation bodies. The former director of the Security and Information Service (SIS) did not want to give testimony and to be examined by a specialized doctor, the prosecution officer being forced to stay yesterday from 4pm until 10pm to talk to him. Related statements were made by the head of the Interior Ministry’s Prosecution Division Gheorghe Malic in a news conference on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. The joint investigation group of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Interior Ministry is considering three versions in this kidnapping case, including a hoax. “The behavior of the injured party and the proofs show that it was possibly a scenario similar to the Cubreacov – 2 one,” said Gheorghe Malic. He also said that Artur Reshetnikov accepted to talk to the prosecution officer only in the presence of Vladimir Voronin, Mark Tkachuk and Iurie Muntean, but his statements were incomplete and provided no other details than the known ones. The former SIS head refuses to show where he was injected with psychotropic substances. He says he does not remember many things, but told exactly the license number of the taxi that took him home after he had been tortured, Gheorghe Malic said. The taxi driver told the police that Artur Reshetnikov was in a normal state and they discussed during the trip. Reshetnikov even refused to take change from 50 lei. According to the investigators, another strange thing is that Artur Reshetnikov said he was forced to sign documents showing he has debts to the vice president of the Conservative Party Oleg Nirca. The latter said Reshetnikov does not owe money to him. First Deputy Prosecutor General Andrei Pantea said that a criminal case was opened over kidnapping for pecuniary purposes committed by two and more persons. Artur Reshetnikov, who is a candidate of the Communists Party for MP, was taken to the Emergency Hospital on the night of November 23. He said he was kidnapped and beaten by a group of individuals, who demanded that he provide information that discredits Vladimir Voronin. Doctors say Reshetnikov suffered only a concussion.
