Artur Reshetnikov: By nonattendance we gave a vote against

The group of the 14 ex-Communist MPs, who created the Social-Democratic Platform “For Moldova”, gave a vote against the Sturza Government by their nonattendance at the January 4 special sitting of Parliament. Such a message was posted by Platform member Artur Reshetnikov on a social networking site, quoted by IPN.

“It should be clear: together with my colleagues, by not going to the special sitting, we gave a no-confidence vote to Sturza’s Cabinet because this candidate was fielded against the will of the majority, in secret. We wanted him to come to Parliament and go away as swiftly. It is our right to vote against by nonattendance,” wrote the lawmaker.

The January 4 special sitting of Parliament didn’t take place because a quorum was not present. Only 47 of the 101 MPs came to the sitting. The Socialist, Communist, former Communist, several Democratic and Liberal lawmakers and Lib-Dem Vlad Filat, who is in custody, were absent.
