The Republic of Moldova and Poland have very close ties and the development of the relations, including of the economic ones, represents a key plan that influences the improvement of the living standards of the people, said Poland’s Ambassador in Chisinau Artur Michalski. In a news conference at IPN, where the re-launch of the carrier LOT Polish Airlines was announced, the official stated that this event represents a new opportunity that will contribute to efficient interaction between the Polish and Moldovan peoples.
The official said that an increasing number of firms in Moldova look for partners in Poland. Also, the Polish entrepreneurs look for new investment ways. However, the direct contacts have so far been very difficult – the journey by plane through Vienna, Bucharest or Kiev is the most expensive and longest one. The trip by car through Ukraine lasts for over 10 hours, while through Romania – for two days, even if it’s more convenient.
“This is not a normal situation between two European capitals in the 21st century. I’m very glad that today, owing to the Policy carrier LOT, we have good news for you. From next year already, you will be able to fly directly from Chisinau to Warsaw. I’m strongly convinced that this will help extend the relations between our societies,” stated the diplomat.
According to the ambassador, when the new service is re-opened, the Polish people will be able to visit Moldova more often, and not only the business partners or for cooperation and investment offers, but also for touristic purposes. “Moldova is an already associate of the European Union and the people of Moldova can travel visa-free to the EU. I invite you to visit Poland, which is a country that indeed made great transformations and which, as many Moldovan partners say, inspires to do reforms and from whose experience a lot can be extracted,” said Artur Michalski, urging to develop the business relations and to explore Poland as a place for tourism.
LOT Chief Executive Officer for Romania and Moldova Jakub Malecki said that from January 2 already, passengers flying from Chisinau again will be able to visit Warsaw, Europe and North America on board LOT planes. LOT offers a wide and convenient flights network, excellent service, efficient and comfortable transfers in LOT’s hub in Warsaw, and the shortest travel time to many destinations in Europe. LOT will fly to Chisinau with modern Bombardier Q400 aircrafts four times a week. Take off is scheduled at 14:45 Mondays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Saturdays departures from Chisinau are scheduled at 17:55.
Tickets for flights to new destinations in Europe and the whole world are already available at www.lot.com, through the mobile application, through the LOT Contact Center and other sale ways.
