Artur Michalski: Moldovan-Polish cooperation is perfect

Poland and Moldova have had close relations of friendship during centuries and today the bilateral cooperation is perfect, Poland’s Ambassador in Chisinau Artur Michalski said in the reception held in Chisinau on the occasion of the 224th anniversary of the adoption of the first constitution in Europe, by the Sejm of the Polish-Lithuanian Union, IPN reports.

The Polish diplomat noted that the Moldovans want to modernize their country, to benefit from the best European models that were already tested and to improve the living conditions. “Poland understands this. We also had such aspirations and we managed to achieve them owing to the great effort of the entire people, owing to consistent reforms and the fight against pathologies of the Communist period and we managed to anchor ourselves in the European Union,” stated Artur Michalski.

The Polish official also said that Europe is the motherland of free peoples and a community of the rule of law and values, of peace and development. Moldova should can and should have a similar fate.

In the same connection, Artur Michalski said that half a year ago the President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski paid a visit to Chisinau. In two weeks, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici will visit Poland. This shows that the bilateral dialogue is very intense.
