Artistic manager of the Folk Music Orchestra "Lautarii", Nicolae Botgros, was involved in a car accident, being hospitalised. The superior inspector of road police within MAI, Victor Gandraman, said that the accident produced on Tuesday, at 16.15p.m., on the itinerary Hancesti-Chisinau, at the kilometre 18, near the village Bardar. Nicolae Botrgros was alone in his car BMW-520, when he was hit violently by the car Mazda-626, driven by a man aged 33. The impact included the Air bag, which, practically, protected Nicolae Botgros of serious injures, Victor Gandraman noted. Referring to conditions that the accident happened, he said the one who is guilty is the driver of the car "Mazda", who did not adapt the speed to fog conditions and wet carriage, got on the contra-sense and hit frontally the car driven by Botgros. A passenger, aged 31, of the car Mazda suffered serious traumas and was hospitalised, where also is the maestro Botgros, Victor Gandraman reported. Sources within the section nr.1 surgery of the Emergency Hospital reported that Nicolae Botgros suffered a trauma and fracture of the 11 ribs on the right part. His situation, at the moment, is satisfactory. The wife of Nicolae Botgros, Lidia Bejenaru, said that she was shocked when she found out about the accident and needed a lot of courage not to cry when she saw her husband in the hospital, in gips. Lidia Bejenaru said that she thanks God that her husband is alive, but she is sure that he will not be able to participate in the performance of the Festival “Martisor”. Since the beginning of the year, in 248 car accidents registered in Moldova, 45 persons had died, and 324 were injured.
