“Arrividerci” to inaugurate Cinematography Glory Blvd. in Truskavets

A commemorative plaque dedicated to the first film that won the Grand Prize of the International Televised Films Festival “Crown of the Carpathians”, which was held in the Ukrainian town of Truskavets, will inaugurate the Boulevard of Cinematography Glory. This is “Arrivederci” made by Moldovan director Valeriu Jereghi, Info-Prim Neo reports. A bronze plaque with the names of the participants in the first festival will be placed on the facade of “Zlata” Cinema, which housed the festival between January 10 and 15, 2010. The announcement was made by the mayor of Truskavets Lev Gritsak during the award ceremony. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Valeriu Jereghi said the tragedy of the abandoned children continues to make the spectators sensitive. The jury of the festival headed by the Hungarian director Laszlo Lugossy approved of the Moldovan film so that “Arrivederci” won the Grand Prize for “High Artistic Embodiment of the Human Values.” “Arrivederci” is a true story about the life of two children aged 5 and 7, who remained at home alone after their mother went to work in Italy. Their life is described through the eyes of an Italian who came to their village by chance. The movie is about the love for the mother and about kindhearted Moldovan villagers. It focuses on only a part of the tragedies experienced by Moldova and other countries as a result of migration. In 2009, the Moldovan movie won nine prizes at intentional film festivals, including three prizes of the televised contest Erasmus EuroMedia awarded by the European Society for Education and Communication, the Top Prize of the Euro-Asia Teleforum in Moscow, three prizes at the International Film Festival in Berdyansk, the Absolute Prize at the Salerno Festival etc. The movie was also screened at the European Parliament. This year, “Arrividerci” won the Gand Prize at the International Televised Films Festival “Crown of the Carpathians” in Truskavets. However, the movie has not been yet shown on the public TV channel in Moldova. Valeriu Jereghi was one of the few if not the only person of culture who was not mentioned at the gala held at the end of last year. The efforts made by Info-Prim Neo's reporter to discuss this issue with Minister of Culture Boris Focsa did not produce results as the official had a tight schedule. Info-Prim Neo will return to this subject.
