Aroma's cognac exports to Russia at 7.7m lei

The Moldovan wine and cognac factory Aroma supplied 308,200 bottles of cognac “Belyi Alist” to the value of 7.7 million lei to Russia in February and March. This quantity is larger than the total exports for 2009, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry informs, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Under the contract signed with the Russian partner last yearend, the company “MoRo” has the exclusive right to supply Aroma's cognac “Belyi Aist” on the Russian market. This year, “MoRo” will purchase 2.45 million bottles of cognac, in accordance with a schedule agreed by the two partners. In 2009, Aroma was on the verge of bankruptcy owing to the large debts to banks and creditors and limited possibilities of selling its products. After the Ministry of Agriculture intervened, the loans to the banks were rescheduled, while the cooperation with “MoRo” helps the factory overcome the difficulties, the Ministry says in a communique.
