Children’s summer rest became the object of an unusual conflict in Vatra, town within Chisinau municipality. While the mayor, Igor Caminschi, says that the local budget can support all the costs of the vacation tickets for children of Vatra, the principal of the school form the locality, Ion Botnari, who is also a local councilors, insists on the fact that parents pay 20% of the ticket’s price, in order to use the collected money for repairing the school. Caminschi mentioned on the operative meeting on Monday, June 5 at Chisinau’s mayoralty that the intention of local authorities to pay fully the rest tickets of the locality’s children is legalized by a decision of the Local Council Vatra. At the same time, he was dissatisfied with the actions of the school’s principal and called on the municipal administration to get involved in order to solve the problem, as, the mayor noted, the authorities would not be able to control in which purpose the money additionally collected is used. The deputy head of the Municipal Education, Science, Youth and Sport Department, Valentina Cujba, said that the information presented by the mayor of Vatra does not comply fully with the reality. According to her, in a discussion held with the school’s principal, he has recognized that he proposed to the mayor to respect the government’s decision, through which the parents have to cover 20% of the vacation tickets, and the money to be allocated for purchasing an audio device to organize extracurricular activities. Cujba highlighted that it was only a proposal that the mayor could accept or not. At the same time, according to her, the school’s administration is obliged only to present the list of children to rest in camps, including of those from disadvantaged families benefiting from free bonuses. Valentina Cujba highlighted that, even if local budgets have never paid for this kind of tickets, this year, certain mayoralties launched such initiatives as result of critics formulated by the municipality’s management. Until now, such decisions were taken by the councils of Vatra and Truseni, but other local councils might do the same thing along the summer season. At the moment, three non-stop camps of municipality started their activity: „Ciresarii” and „Monolit” of Vadul lui Voda and „Alunelul” of the village Bardar, Ialoveni. Along this week other 5 camps will start their activity: „Floricica”, „Luceafarul”, „Zambetul”, „Nistru” of Vadul lui Voda and „Poienita vesela” of Danceni, Ialoveni. The 9th camp, „Neptun”, depending on the activity of the canteen of the Factory „Ionel”, will open on June15. On Monday, June 5, 66 camps of the municipality started their activity.
