Area of houses built from people’s money fell 9.6%
The total area of houses constructed from the population’s money and put in commission in 2008 decreased by 9.6% compared with 2007 to 303,500 m2. This is 48.7% of the total houses put in commission in Moldova last year. The private houses totaled 2,151, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, 6,152 apartments occupying an area of 623,200 m2 were put in commission in 2008. This is 111.7% compared with a year before. The private companies constructed 82.5% of the apartment buildings put in commission.
86.3% of the total houses were put in commission in urban areas, a 3.1% increase from a year earlier.
