“The April 7 aggression virus has not yet calmed down several thousands of patriots of the pogrom ideology and of the endless chaos,” the leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said in his speech delivered in Parliament on December 28, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vladimir Voronin, who chaired the first sitting of the new Parliament as the oldest MP, said the people managed to obtain clarity and sovereignty from the politicians, while the political class did not manage to ensure stability in the country and learn from the problems that appeared on the political arena. “The feverishness of confrontation has not yet yielded the place to the noble wish to unify the people and abandon the primitive schemes used to divide society into “ours” and “yours”, pro-Europeans and anti-Europeans, pro-Western and pro-Russians,” said the PCRM leader. He voiced hope that the new legislative body will manage to strengthen the state and establish order so as to unite all the Moldovan people. “During the next four years, we must do everything possible to obtain European freedoms, modernize the economy and reach appropriate living standards,” Vladimir Voronin said. The PCRM holds 42 seats in the new legislature, the PLDM - 32, the PD - 15, while the PL - 12. The parliamentary groups did not succeed in forming an alliance for electing the head of state. The MPs asked for a break until December 30 for consultations. Until the head of state is not elected, the post of Acting President will be held by Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
