Moldovan businesswomen plead for the creation of a nongovernmental association divided by sectors that would promote the interests of all the entrepreneurs, IPN reports.
According to businesswoman Olga Paladi from Baltin town, such a body would be a more convincing voice in the dialogue with the authorities on problems concerning entrepreneurship. “We can grow if we joint together. It is very important that all the entrepreneurs be supported, not only separate categories,” Olga Paladi said in a meeting of businesswomen. She added that the joint activity would attract more projects to extend the businesses and would multilaterally develop entrepreneurship.
Iulia Iabanji, director general of the Organization for the Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, said there are about 7,000 NGOs in Moldova, of which only approximately 1,000 are active, while over 100 work in the business sector. “We sometimes criticize the administration when the decisions are already taken. We must react when they just start to be discussed,” she stated.
According to the businesswomen, such an association would provide expertise, would attract business financing projects and would stage different training courses for entrepreneurs. It would also represent the businesses in the dialogue with the authorities.
About 27% of the companies in Moldova are run by women.
