Applications submitted to Agricultural Payments Agency will be examined after budget amendments
The applications submitted to the Agency for Payment and Intervention in Agriculture, about 170, will be examined in September, after the state budget is amended, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the institution’s director, Petru Maleru, the 250 million lei allotted this year for the subsidization of farmers was already exhausted. However, funds could be supplemented. Additional funds for subsidization are searched for, one potential source being foreign partners.
The 250 million lei was used to cover last year’s debts. Since August 1, payments have been made to satisfy this year's subsidy applications. 70 subsidies have been offered for buying farming equipment and machinery.
In the days to follow, subsidies will be approved for the refurbishing of animal farms and greenhouses. Next week the Agency for Payment and Intervention in Agriculture will authorize the payment of subsidies for post-harvesting operations, for stimulating the purchase of breeding animals, of crediting and risk insurance in the agricultural sector.
