Applications for subsidies of 150m lei
Farmers submitted 2,450 applications for subsidies to the total value of 150 million lei to the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture. About 10,000 persons will be provided with subsidies on the basis of the filed applications, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc told a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Most of the farmers applied for subsidies for growing high-value crops and raising loans. “As a result of these state stimuli, the agricultural producers, small farmers and peasant farmsteads invested own financial resources to the value of 1.35 billion lei and created about 4,500 workplaces when planting 2,700 hectares with multiannual crops, especially fruit trees and vine, and opening fruit and vegetable processing companies,” the minister said.
The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture provides subsidies and assesses the impact of these subsidies on the producers and agricultural sector, Valeriu Cosarciuc stated.
This year, the agriculture subsidization fund includes 300 million lei plus 30 million lei for covering the rise in the price of diesel fuel. Recently, the Government decided to transfer 100 million lei more to the fund by redistributing certain costs.
