Applications for registering initiative groups for collecting signatures in favor of applicants for the post of deputy of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia can be submitted starting with September 19. Subscription lists will be issued on September 21, IPN reports, quoting the local press.

According to the portal Gagauzinfo, the decision was taken in a meeting of the standing Central Election Commission of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. This also approved the 35 electoral constituencies and the regulations concerning the submission of documents and registration of candidates.

The documents required for registering initiative groups for collecting signatures can be filed by October 11. The initiative groups can consist of three to ten persons.

The elections to choose deputies for the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia were set for November 20.

The People’s Assembly of Gagauzia includes 35 deputies elected for a four-year term in local uninominal constituencies by universal, equal, direct, secret and freely expressed vote.
