The underprivileged families in Chisinau can submit applications for cold-month compensations by December 1. In December it will be impossible to ask for compensations for November, only for the next months, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the November 21 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the Public Amenities Division head Petru Gontea said that 22,500 applications have been filed so far, by 5,500 fewer compared with last year. More than 2,500 of them are new applications, submitted by families that did not apply for compensations last year. According to the director of IM Infocom Ion Margineanu, the November bills for heat will be by 10% higher owing to the higher tariffs. The lowest sum for heat will be paid for one-room apartments – 1 000 lei. The applications for cold-month compensations can be lodged by families that have a monthly income of up to 1 450 lei a person. The people who received compensations the previous heating season must renew the applications if they want to benefit again from compensations. The applications are submitted to the municipal housing stock managing companies, homebuilding cooperatives or privatized dwelling owners associations. The people living in the suburban settlements can file applications to the local mayors’ offices.
