The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture will restart to receive applications for agricultural subsidies, on the initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip. The applications from agricultural producers will be accepted until October 31, but there will be authorized payments within the funds available for this year. The other subsidies will be paid next year, IPN reports.
The Premier said the decision for the beneficiaries to get financial support in 2017 was taken because this year the Government had to cope with an additional budget effort as they paid almost all the the overdue subsidies for 2014 and 2015 and fulfilled the payment obligations for 2016, to the value of about 480 million lei.
More than 2,600 applications for agricultural subsidies were submitted by September 26 this year.
