Applicants for presidency do not need to obtain medical certificate again

The applicants for the post of President who were issued with a medical certificate for the previous elections, of December 16, do not need to obtain it again, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”We agreed with the head of the medical commission Sergiu Ungureanu that the applicants who already have a medical certificate do not need to obtain it again for the January 15 elections. There are 14 persons who were issued with such a certificate, but none of them submitted the necessary documents to the commission so far. If they file applications, we will simply inform them that they do not need another medical certificate,” the chairman of the special commission for organizing the presidential elections Tudor Deliu has told a news conference. Only five of the 14 applicants who were issued with certificates by the medical commission were declared fit to run for President. One applicant who was declared unfit came again, saying he received treatment and wants to be examined by the medical commission for the January 15 elections. Tudor Deliu reiterated that the special commission for organizing the presidential elections accepts only the whole set of documents, including the application accompanied by the signatories of at least 15 MPs in support of the applicant, the written consent of the applicant, the copy of the identity card, the income statement for the previous year, the medical certificate, and the CV. The commission works daily, except the holidays of January 7 and 8, from 8am until 5pm. The deadline for applications is January 12, 7pm.
