The persons who will apply for Moldovan nationality will take the two obligatory exams in the official language, IPN reports, quoting an amendment approved by the Government to the annex to its November 19, 2001 decision. Currently, the applicants for nationality take exams to show their knowledge of the Constitution of Moldova and of the official language in written form, in Romanian or Russian.
The Ministry of Education considers that the persons applying for Moldovan nationality should have a good command of the official language and should show that they understand sufficiently the everyday language, the official information and the texts of social character. Thus, the tests should be only in the official language of Moldova.
