The Chisinau Appeals Court upheld the decision to annul the registration of the candidate for Chisinau mayoralty of the Shor Party Reghina Apostolova that was taken by the Centru branch of the Court of Chisinau.
Secretary of the Chisinau District Electoral Council Vitalie Miron has told IPN that the judgment passed by the Appeals Court can be challenged in the Supreme Court of Justice, but the municipal electoral body is obliged to implement it now already and to immediately decide if Reghina Apostolova will be excluded from the approved ballot form or not.
The candidate of the Shor Party was excluded from the electoral race following a notice submitted by the National Unity Party, which warned that the electoral campaign of Reghina Apostolova was financed with foreign funds and the candidate appeared in an electoral advertisement alongside a Russian singer.
Eleven candidates will now compete for the mayoralty of Chisinau on May 20.
