The Chisinau City Appeals Court rejected the request to annul the Central Election Commission’s decision not to register the leader of the Pro Moldova Party Andrian Candu as a candidate for President. The politician announced he will go to the Supreme Court of Justice, IPN reports.
“Today’s decision by the Appeals Court is a big disappointment, but the injustice raised to the level of law makes us to be more determined in the struggle for a new, cleaned republic with learned lessons,” stated Andrian Candu, being quoted in a press release of the party.
Andrian Candu said he will challenge the decision in the Supreme Court of Justice and, if need be, will also go to the ECHR.
The CEC refused to register the leader of the Pro Moldova Party as a candidate for President, arguing the party’s initiative group collected the required minimum of 600 signatures of supporters in only 12 territorial-administrative units of the second level, while in another 17 territorial-administrative units it did not.
