The People’s Movement “Antimafie” won the case after it disputed the Central Election Commission’s decision to ban the party from staging demonstrations near the electoral meetings of the Democratic Party at the Chisinau Appeals Court, “Antimafie” leader Sergiu Mocanu said in a press briefing after the hearing, IPN reports.
“The Central Election Commission protected an election runner. By that decision, the CEC wanted to prevent us from going to the places where the PDM has electoral meetings. But we will continue to go there,” said Sergiu Mocanu, adding that they will also inform the international organizations that the current election campaign was discredited and will call on the people not to vote for ‘criminals’.
The CEC warned the People’s Movement “Antimafie” following a complained filed by the PDM. It banned the party from holding electoral meetings and demonstrations simultaneously with the Democratic Party.
