Although in 2019 the first increase in prices for apartments in the last 11 years has been noted, they are by 6% more accessible than last year, due to the increase in the average annual salary recalculated in euros, maintains Veaceslav Ioniță, economic expert, IPN reports.

In an article published on the website of IDIS "Viitorul", the expert mentions that for the purchase of an apartment of 70 square meters in Chisinau municipality in the second quarter of 2019, 8.8 average annual salaries are needed, compared to 9.4 average annual salaries in 2018.

“The average annual salary increased by 336 euros compared to 2018 and reached the level of 4 232 euros per year. If in the first quarter an apartment of 70 m2 in Chisinau municipality had an average sale price of 36.4 thousand euros, then, in the second quarter, the price of apartments rose by 600 euros and the price for an apartment of 70 m2 went up to 37 thousand euros”, says Veaceslav Ioniță.

The expert mentions that the financial effort for the purchase of an apartment in Chisinau during the last three years is rapidly getting close to the European average, which constitutes 6.9 average annual salaries for a 70 m2 apartment.
