Nineteen people, five of whom were minors, were evacuated from an apartment building in Botanica district of Chisinau after a fire broke out there on Wednesday evening, at 9:30 p.m. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, dense smoke was noticed coming out from the window of a third-floor apartment, IPN reports.

Five rescue and fire crews were dispatched to the scene. The flames engulfed things inside the room of an apartment with a total area of 50 m2.

Firefighters evacuated three persons, including a minor, from the burning apartment. The dwellers from the staircase of the block were also evacuated so as to prevent poisoning by fumes. No one was hurt.

The fire was localized at 9:53 p.m. Specialists are yet to establish all the circumstances.

Over the last 24 hours, rescuers and firefighters dealt with 55 situations of risk.
