An apartment situated on the fourth floor of a building located on Costiujeni St in Botanica district started to burn at about 11am this morning. Two firefighting vehicles were on the scene immediately.

Diana Turcan, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told IPN that the fire destroyed objects in one of the rooms before it was localized.

There was no one in the apartment. The firefighters were called by neighbors. Two persons living on the same stair on the fourth floor were evacuated because of the smoke that filled the corridor.

The cause of fire is being determined.
