A three-year-old child and his mother were evacuated from an apartment of Chisinau’s Botanica district that caught fire in the evening of July 17. The flames engulfed the balcony and a part of the kitchen.
Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the firefighters were called at 20.17. The apartment is situated at the seventh floor of an apartment building on Cuza Voda St. Three special vehicles travelled to the scene. The fire was localized in about 13 minutes.
There was a child aged three and a woman in the apartment. Both of them are out of danger. The woman needed medical care as she inhaled fumes. The circumstances and cause of fire are yet to be established. The unsafe use of open fire is the preliminary version. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the parents not to leave the children unsupervised so as to avoid different incidents.
