Works to kill rates and insects and to disinfect areas started in basements and waste collection rooms in apartment buildings of Chisinau. The General Public Amenities Division said the works will last until October.

According to the Division, employees will perform such works in over 2,300 blocks of flats. When the planned works are completed, additional works will be executed at the request of residents of the capital city, IPN reports.

A sum of 3 million lei was allocated from the 2022 municipal budget for carrying out works to kill rates and insects. The company that executes the works was chosen at a public tender contest in accordance with the current legislation.

The General Public Amenities Division noted that the provisions of services started with delay for the reason that the working group’s decision was challenged twice in the National Dispute Resolution Agency. The public procurement procedure was initiated on Februarys 9, 2022.
