On Monday, October 16, local authorities connected 550 apartment blocks, out of 2874 from the municipality of Chisinau to thermal energy supply network, head of the Communal Department General, Mihai Solcan declared on Monday at the meeting of the City Hall. According to him, starting from Monday the medical and education institutions will also be connected to the network. During this week another 400 blocks with a payment percentage of 90% for the services provided in the last heating season will be connected. At the same time, the situation of 100 apartment blocks remains unclear. These blocks covered less than a half of the debts for thermal energy, the cited source said, mentioning that this situation is repeating every year in the case of departmental blocks. The interim Mayor, Vasile Ursu asked the bodies responsible of the thermal energy supply not to wait for 3 days consecutive 8 ºC temperatures and to start connecting all the blocks which do not have debts.
