Apa Canal implements quality management system

Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) implements an integral quality management system which consists in the application of international standards on quality, environment and labour safety management. ACC senior technologist Arcadie Rusnac told Info-Prim Neo that when the management system is implemented, the quality of water, supply and sewer services will improve. According to Arcadie Rusnac the adjustment to international standards as well as the compliance with the national legislation is very important to ACC, taking into consideration the fact that water supply and sewer systems are worn-out and there are no resources at the moment for repair. The implementation of the management system will provide new opportunities for solving this problem, the ACC senior technologist mentioned. Specialists of the Apa Canal JSC are consulted by a Romanian expert, Elena Mesca in the implementation of the system. The cooperation became possible due to a collaboration agreement between the Chisinau water supplier and Apa-Canal 2000 in Pitesti. Arcadie Rusnac specified that the Romanian expert is offering assistance in working out the documentation of the project, editing of instructions and the quality handbook, evaluation of risk factors and others. Elena Mesca also trains internal specialists and auditors, specialised in management systems, in the domain of those three quality management standards – ISO 9001, 14001, OH ASA 18001. Quality standards for tap water were established by the Government Decision no. 934 of August 15.
