The water supplier “Apa-Canal Chisinau” on April 27 reopened the springs in the Park “Valea Morilor”, the central park of Chisinau “Stephan the Great” and in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral that were conserved for the wintertime, IPN reports.
In a press release, the company said it aims to extend the system of springs in the central part of the city so as to ensure free access to high-quality drinking water in the warm period and to encourage consumption of water from the public network.
The ten reopened springs were laid out within the campaign “Running fountains for Chisinau residents”. In the warm period, “Apa-Canal Chisinau” plans to set up three more springs. These will have meters and will be connected to the drinking water and sewerage networks of the city.
In this connection, the water supplier calls on the citizens not to vandalize the nice and useful facilities intended for the inhabitants of Chisinau.
The costs for maintaining the springs, of 6,500 lei per unit, are covered by the company.
