“Apa-Canal Chisinau” rehabilitates new water pipe section

The company “Apa-Canal Chisinau” is rehabilitating with own funds a new section of water pipe situated at the intersection of the streets Dimitri Cantemir, Albisoara and Ismail in the capital city, IPN reports.

According to the water supplier, the works will last until March. The laid pipe section is about 40 meters long and carries drinking water to about 20 apartment buildings and business entities located in the perimeter of the mentioned streets. The old pipe yielded owing to the high wear degree, while the new, polyethylene one has a diameter of 400 mm and a guarantee of at least 50 years.

In a press release, “Apa-Canal Chisinau” said that no household user or shopping center in the area will be disconnected from the water supply in the period. The supply could be stopped for a short period only when the new pipe is connected.

Even if the repair works can cause particular inconveniences to some of the consumers, owing to these water leakages will decrease in number and the quality of services will improve and will remain so during a longer period.

The company said the works are coordinated with the municipality. There will be no traffic restrictions in the area and the asphalt will not be damaged given that the new pipe is laid in a protection tube.

To rehabilitate the given water pipe section, SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” allocated 187,500 lei from its funds.
