“Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) finished the transportation of the mud from the geotubes of the Wastewater Treatment Station. The company’s workers collected about 65,000 cubic meters of mud, ACC director general Constantin Becciev said, Info-Prim Neo reports. The transportation of mud starts annually at the end of December. The works are performed in the cold period so as to prevent the unpleasant smell from spreading. When it grows warmer, the smell can be felt for a short period. Constantin Becciev said it started to warm up and thus they decided to step up works. Thus, the workers collected mud in two shifts and the works were completed at the start of February, one month earlier than last year. The mud was stored in special storage places set up on the territory of the Wastewater Treatment Station. The Station has worked for over 40 years and its equipment is old. The company invested its own sources in renovating and maintaining the existent equipment, but a new station should be constructed to ensure the smooth supply of water. However, the water supplier and the Chisinau City Hall do not have the necessary resources.
