Apa-Canal Chisinau denies that eight children from Durlesti poisoned with water

SA Apa-Canal Chisinau denies the fact that the eight children of Kindergarten No. 2 located in Durlesti town got poisoned because of the water. In a communiqué, the water supplier says that the water does not contain toxic substances and pathogen microflora that can cause infectious intestinal diseases, Info-Prim Neo reports. The head of the Water Quality and Control Division of Apa-Canal Chisinau Arcadie Rusnac said that in accordance with the examination timetable approved by the Chisinau Public Health Center, samples of water from the pipes that supply water to the given quarter were analyzed on May 18. The analyses showed that the water meets the set parameters and is fit to drink. He also said that the kindergarten administration’s statement that the water was warm and unclean is rather unconvincing as the kindergarten is not supplied with hot water through the centralized system. Most probably, the institution’s own hot water supply system is defective. Furthermore, several hundreds of houses and social facilities are supplied with water through this pipe and the consumers haven’t complained so far. Eight children from six different groups were admitted with fever to the infectious diseases hospital with symptoms of poisoning. The infectionist doctors need several days more to find out the cause of the infection. The kindergarten was closed for tem days until all the circumstances are elucidated. It is attended by 410 children.
