The frost of the last few days left nhabitants of Chisinau without water after several tens of unprotected water installations got frozen. The dispatcher’s office of SA “Apă-Canal Chisinau” recorded 26 cases of freezing of water mains and meters, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the supplier.

Given the warnings issued by the State Hydrometeorological Service, the supplier said the consumers should take the measures needed to avoid the freezing of water mains and meters. The consumers should ensure the protection and physical integrity of water meters and basements of blocks against frost, while the apartment building managers should thermally insulate the internal sewer and water pipes.

A number of 14 cases of freezing of water meters and 12 cases of freezing of water mains have been recorded in the municipality of Chisinau so far this year.
