“Apa-Canal Chisinau” calls on consumers to pay debts for water

The administration of “Apa-Canal Chisinau” calls on the consumers with debts for water to honor their obligations and warns these that they risk being disconnected from the water supply system, IPN reports.

In a press release, the supplier said the specialists of “Apa-Canal Chisinau” check the addresses where large debts for water are registered and provide the necessary technical support to the housing sector managers.

Two household users living on Testemitanu St have the largest debts for the water and sewerage services – of about 20,000 lei each. A consumer on Cartusa St has debts totaling 15,000 lei, while another consumer owes 13,500 lei to the company. These are historical debts. Even if these were issued with prescriptions, they haven’t yet cleared the debts.

“Apa-Canal Chisinau” reminds that those with debts can ask the housing sector manager to make a debt rescheduling plan for them. The disconnection from the water supply system is the last measure applied by the suppliers. The indebted persons who are sued face the confiscation of property and forced execution procedures, which imply additional costs for consumers, and can also be banned from leaving the country until the debts are settled.

The non-payment of debts by consumers prevents the water supplier from increasing investments in the renovation and repair of water and sewer pipes. In this connection, “Apa-Canal Chisinau” repeatedly calls on consumers to clear the debts as soon as possible.
