SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” has awarded the winners of the contest “Story of Water” that was held in connection with World Water Day celebrated on March 22. The best works were displayed inside the company’s head office, IPN reports.

The contest involved 250 competitors – students of education institutions and creation centers of Chisinau. Of these, 35 were chosen winners and were given diplomas and money awards.

“Each year, the United Nations Organization highlights by a theme of world relevance to celebrate World Water Day. The theme of 2018 is “Nature for Water”. This theme shows the connection between water and nature and, surely, how interested factors should protect the resources of water,” said “Apa-Canal Chisinau” director general Veronica Herta.

By the contest, the water supplier aimed to convey, together with the participants, the message that water plays a significant role in ensuring the quality of life. “That’s why it is everyone’s duty to protect the sources of water. We, for our part, have the task of supplying water of a high quality to everyone,” stated Veronica Herta.

In connection with the event, children of the Robotic Club of the Theoretical Lyceum “Ion Creanga” tested robots designed to improve the process of supplying water and of detecting hidden water leaks.

The contest “Story of Water” was at its third edition. It is staged under the aegis of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” with support from the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport.
