Any delay can end in irreparable losses, Pavel Caba
Immediate measures should be taken to remedy the situation in the construction sector. Any delay could result in irreparable losses, Pavel Caba, the head of the construction employers organization, said during the consultations initiated by the Prime Minister designate Vlad Filat with representatives of the civil society and businesses, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Pavel Caba said that all the indicators in the construction sector have fallen by 50% this year, mainly the volume of works and the sales. The salary arrears increased in volume. Presently, there are 1 million square meters of dwelling and commercial space that could yield t revenues of over 1 billion euros if the he construction companies complete the works.
According to Caba, the situation is worsened by the fact that most of the companies cannot repay the loans raised from banks.
Pavel Caba considers that the Government should identify and attract cheap financial resources and stimulate consumption by developing the mortgage market. In some cases, it could become an investor as the situation in a number of areas depends on the state of affairs in the construction sector. He stressed the necessity of removing the bureaucratic barriers existing in this sector. “We need two years to erect a house and as much time to obtain all the authorizations and certificates needed to start the works,” Caba said.
