Antitank mine discovered on street in Tiraspol

An antitank mine dating from World War II was found by the worker of an electric utility on a street in Tiraspol city. The man informed the police, IPN reports.

According to the de facto Ministry of the Interior of the Transnistrian region, the suspicious object was taken out by an excavator during pipe laying works. When on the spot, the bomb squad closed the area to traffic and evacuated the civilians, including the people living in buildings situated nearby.

The experts determined that the mine dating from World War II didn’t pose any threat. It was taken away for being disposed of.
