Members of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” called upon the people not to take part in the public assembly that will be held by the ruling parties in the Great National Assembly Square on November 3. In a news conference at IPN, “Antimafie” leader Sergiu Mocanu said that by the scheduled event, the members of the ruling parties intend to launch their election campaign.
“It’s not an assembly against the Communists or in favor of the country’s European course. It is a wedding where Plahotniuc and Filat want to polish there image in order to enter the future Parliament,” said Sergiu Mocanu.
He also said that the people from villages, especially the public functionaries, are forced to take part in this event. “The European integration does not take place in a square. It’s a farce,” stated Sergiu Mocanu. He added that Moldova will initial the Association Agreement with the EU in Vilnius even if the people do not go to the Great National Assembly Square that day.
The leader of “Antimafie” informed that every Sunday he has meetings with Moldovans in the country and abroad and they complain about the two politicians. “A lot of people cannot come home because of the evil caused by this mafiotic group,” he stated.
According to the politician, Vlad Plahotniuc renounced the seat of MP under the pressure of the public opining and the European Union. “Now that Platonic left Parliament and remained without parliamentary immunity, we will demand that the Prosecutor General’s Office hold him accountable for forgery, double identity and influence peddling,” said Sergiu Mocanu, adding that they will also file complaints against the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat and another two party members.
On November 3, the parties of the government coalition will stage a pro-European demonstration in central Chisinau in order to inform the people about Moldova’s European course and to allow them to state their viewpoints on it. The event has been so far supported by the Transnistrian war veterans, the academic community of Moldova and the members of the first Parliament.
