The People’s Movement “Antimafie” said hundreds of Russian servicemen have come to the Transnistrian region through the Chisinau International Airport the last few days, IPN repots.
According to a statement issued by “Antimafie”, Russian military men arrive daily by regular Moscow – Chisinau flights. Some of them were aboard the plane Yak 42, which arrived at the Chisinau airport on March 6. “According to the official version, the plane was rented by controversial millionaire Ilan Shor for a concert given by singer Jasmin,” reads the statement.
“Antimafie” said Russian servicemen go easily through passport control in civilian clothes and with civil documents without being questioned about the goal of the visit and the period of stay by the Moldovan border guards.
In this connection, the People’s Movement “Antimafie” condemns the behavior of the Moldovan authorities and demands that the Government should take immediate steps to ensure national security.
Asked by IPN to comment on the statements that the number of Russians servicemen in Transnistria has increased, press officer of the Security and Information Service Vladimir Ghiletski said the Service cannot make public the information it possesses.
