“Antimafie” Movement: Alliance between Nastase, Usatyi and Dodon poses threats to Moldova

“The alliance between the three leaders of the protesters – the leader of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase, chairman of the “Our Party” Renato Usatyi and the Party of Socialists’ head Igor Dodon – cannot be a solution to the current sociopolitical crisis and poses even threats to Moldova,” deputy head of the People’s Movement Party “Antimafie” Daniela Bodrug said in a news conference at IPN. She stated that the given alliance, which she called the NUD Alliance, can lead to the freezing of the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU.

“On the one hand, Dodon says that he does not intend to implement the Association Agreement and even wants this accord to be abolished. On the other hand, the Platform “Dignity and Truth” says that it wants the agreement to be implemented. When these two entities joint together, nothing else than the freezing of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union happens,” stated Daniela Bodrug.

The Movement’s deputy head noted that the Platform’s call to the people and representatives of civil society to take to the streets alongside Renato Usatyi and Igor Dodon means discouragement of the people’s pro-European protest energies and modification of the essence of the protests mounted in Moldova. The protests staged by the Platform failed because this had a hidden agenda that promoted clan interests.

Daniela Bodrug said the Platform “Dignity and Truth” hurried to turn into a party so as to immediately cause early parliamentary elections. The early elections will result in the formation of a parliamentary alliance of the pro-Russian forces. The European partners recognized the new Government immediately and in a hurry so as to thwart Russia’s plans with regard to Moldova.

According to her, the Platform “Dignity and Truth” must stop staging protests and must allow civil society to deal with such actions. She called on Andrei Nastase and also on Igor Dodon and Renato Usatyi to withdraw from the National Salvation Council so as not to affect the pro-European essence of the protests mounted in Moldova.

The deputy head of the Movement “Antimafie” called on civil society to struggle against the government and to detach itself from the ‘struggle between clans’.
