The leader of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu made a series of new accusations against political leaders who are power or in the opposition in the program “Public eye” on Noroc TV channel, IPN reports.
According to Mocanu, the current corruption schemes and the schemes to misappropriate state property were designed by the former Communist administration, especially ex-President Vladimir Voronin. “Voronin should have been jailed for the crimes committed by him, but the current administration did nothing. The leaders of the ruling parties simply took over the criminal schemes created by Voronin and protected him from punishment so that they are not imprisoned themselves afterward,” he stated.
The leader of “Anrimafie” noted that even if he made numerous accusations against high-ranking officials in public over the last few years, the law enforcement bodies took no steps and nobody invited him to make statements or to provide evidence. “Our law enforcement bodies can do nothing as they are controlled by the mafia. Everybody knows that the Anticorruption Center and the Prosecutor’s Office are controlled by Vlad Plahotniuc, while the Ministry of the Interior – by Vlad Filat. Thus, instead of investigating the two, these institutions protect them,” he stated.
Sergiu Mocanu also referred to the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu, accusing him of being greedy and of working in collusion with Plahotniuc.
Speaking about the bans imposed by Russia, he leveled harsh criticism against the Government, especially Prime Minister Iurie Leanca. “It was known since last autumn that we will sign and ratify the Association Agreement with the EU and that Russia will react callously to such acts. Why didn’t they prepare the people and didn’t help them to identify other export markets?” wondered Mocanu. According to him, there is no chance for these bans to be lifted in the near future.
