Some of the prosecutors of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and a part of the officers of the National Anticorruption Center started to give signs of disobedience of the mafia and of institutional autonomy, the leader of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu said in a news conference at IPN. He noted that he speaks about some of the prosecutors and officers, not yet about the chiefs of these institutions.
Sergiu Mocanu said the actions of prosecutor Adriana Betisor should be interpreted as actions of institutional autonomy. “Few prosecutors of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, not yet the head of this institution, and few officers of the National Anticorruption Center, not yet the head of this Center, started to give signs of disobedience of the mafia and of institutional autonomy. I don’t know what resources they have behind, but I’m sure that these persons already oppose the system,” he stated.
According to the leader of “Antimafie”, the ‘empire’ of politician Vlad Plahotniuc started to shatter after the arrests of ex-Premier Vlad Filat and mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor. “The empire of Plahotniuc started to ruin. Regretfully, neither the honest press in the Republic of Moldova managed to perceive this owing to the information war waged by several mafia clans of Moldova on these media outlets ,” he said.
Sergiu Mocanu noted that the foundations of the system were shaken when Ilan Shor was arrested as the arrest was made without Plahotniuc’s consent. “The holding of Shor at the National Anticorruption Center now is the condicio sine qua non for this system to be rooted out. So, Shor is now the one who makes statements and everyone is afraid of his statements, including Plahotniuc. Not many realize what Shor can write, but Shor knows a lot indeed,” he said.
As regards the arrest of Vlad Filat, the leader of “Antimafie” said this was made on the instructions of Vlad Plahotniuc. “If Plahotniuc had returned to the date of October 14 last year, he would have never arrested Filat. Plahotniuc did two fatal mistakes in the period and these led to institutional disobedience against him. The arrest of Filat was the first mistake that was fatal for him and beneficial to society. The system started to shatter,” stated Sergiu Mocanu.
He also said that the second mistake made by Plahotniuc was his visit to the U.S. where he met with officials who told him to free the law enforcement agencies. The first signs of institutional autonomy started to appear then.
