A number of bakeries in the towns of Drochia and Cupcini that increased the prices of bread are being inspected by anticorruption officers. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, spokeswoman for the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime Angela Starinschi said that inspections are carried out at three bakeries in Drochia and at the largest bread maker in Cupcini. The officers will check if the price rises are justified. If it turns out that there were no reasons for increasing prices, the bakeries will be panelized, said Angela Starinschi. A number of bakeries raised the prices of bread by 0.5 lei on average on July 1.
