Anticorruption center discovers dangerous beer

The Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime found about 4,000 1.5- and 2-liter bottles of Ukrainian beer of dubious quality in a storehouse of SB TRADE company. Laboratory tests showed the drink was dangerous to life and health, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Center. During preliminary investigations, it was established that the original plastic labels on the bottles had been replaced with paper labels that indicated a different shelf life. The Center's officers made several control purchases from a shop selling beer supplied by the mentioned company. The beer was tested at the National Standardization and Metrology Institute and turned out to be dangerous. The Center seized the about 4,000 bottles with false labels and took other samples for tests. If found guilty, the company's director would be fined up to 100,000 lei and banned from carrying out certain activities for a period of up to two years, or the company would be closed.
