The Anticorruption Alliance that consists of over 20 NGOs requests immediately launching talks on the formation of a stable pro-European government coalition in Parliament and fielding at least three candidates for the key state posts, like that of Prime Minister, in accordance with the democratic principles and by respecting the human rights. The Alliance made such a public call to Parliament, the Government, the head of state and the parliamentary parties – the PLDM, PDM, PL, and PCRM, IPN reports.
The signatories of the call make reference to the current politically unstable conditions determined by the resignation of the Cabinet, the continuous crisis in the financial-banking sector following the stealing of money from banks, which had serious repercussions at internal level, including economic instability, oscillations in the exchange rates, rises in prices of goods and services that led to higher tensions in society, and at external level, such as the considerable diminution of European partners’ and foreign donors’ confidence in the country’s self-management capacities, and the recent blocking of the anti-corruption bills as a result of which the budgetary support and assistance in further implementing reforms was stopped.
The members of the alliance ask that the main state posts should be distributed not according to political criteria, but based on professionalism. They also request investing, without delay, a new plenipotentiary Government with a clear mandate for doing the reforms assumed before society and the foreign development partners. They consider the future Premier must be a person with professional integrity who enjoys substantial confidence in society, with competence in doing reforms and ensuring the European integration.
The Anticorruption Alliance suggests that the priorities of the future Government should include the remedying of the situation in the financial-banking system, implementation of the Association Agreement, signing of an accord with the IMF, urgent adoption of the package of anti-corruption bills and the fulfillment of the obligations undertaken before the foreign partners.
