Anti-Mafia Movement protests against questioning of prosecutor general in closed meeting

The leader of the Anti-Mafia Movement Sergiu Mocanu and several other members of the organization have protested in front of the Palace of the Republic against the Parliament’s decision to question the prosecutor general in a closed-door meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We came here before the plenary sitting of the legislative body because we are convinced that the MPs intend to hide the illegalities committed by the persons featured in the prosecutor’s report. We thought that justice will be made when the Premier demanded dismissing the prosecutor, but now I’m convinced that neither Valeriu Zubko nor Marian Lupu will be discharged,” Sergiu Mocanu said during the protest. According to Mocanu, the Anti-Mafia Movement staged a number of protests and will continue to demonstrate until their message reaches the MPs. “Vlad Filat, instead of dealing with the problems, urges Oleg to stop smoking (in a video where a number of public figures call on Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim to give up smoking – e.n.). I consider the head of state will not be elected. The negotiations with the PCRM will fail and there will be held early elections,” said the leader of the Anti-Mafia Movement. The legislature decided to question Prosecutor General Valery Zubko in a closed-door meeting on October 28.
