The hospitals were practically closed, but the population wasn’t clearly told what to do.
“Under any pretext, the hospitals have to refuse assistance and to provide consultancy only this way: “wait, administer analgesics and symptomatic medicines, endure.” Therefore, the population had to experience from simple inconveniences to serious worsening of the state of health,” said Alexandru Danci.
According to him, an atheistic operation for modifying the form of the nose, for example, can wait, but there are multiple chronic diseases that can worsen during one day or one hour. For example, there is cholelihtiasis cramp-like pain. In case of peptic ulcer, hemorrhage can appear. The inflation of abdominal organs can lead to peritonitis and other complications, not to mention the persons with cancer who need urgent actions.
The doctor noted the anti-epidemic actions taken in Moldova were chaotic. “For example, the great panic stated in the slogan “Everyone should stay at home” is fully unfounded. First of all, not everyone can stay at home. Secondly, this “stay at home” worsened considerably a lot of things. Firstly, immunity is affected. It is incorrect to keep everyone at home. They should have explained who and how should stay at home. But this is much more difficult. Secondly, the population should have been told where different patients can seek help. The people started to run from one doctor to another. The family doctors provided consultations only by phone. It’s hard for me to imagine how a person with pain can be consulted by phone,” stated Alexandru Danci.
He also said that the ordinary procedure for holding tender contests for purchasing medicines, protective equipment and other things was annulled. “Competition and the choice of the cheapest bid are the main rules of tender contests. Currently, nobody chooses where it is cheaper, more convenient and faster. A lot of centralized purchases of medicines were made at exaggerated prices and no one posts this. There are no commissions that would check things. But there are acts of corruption, abuse of power, etc. The prices of masks, for example, were raised two to ten times, buy nobody has access to documents. I think in this case there are reasons for the competent bodies to conduct a serious investigation,” noted the doctor.
Referring to statistics, he said the number of detected infections depends on the number of tested people. The countries use different testing methods. That’s why these figures are manipulative. They cannot be applied without a statistical examination. “I think there are two factors here. The first factor is the simple misunderstanding of what they talk about. The people who now deal with this do not have sufficient special studies. The second factor is the selfish interest. One can manipulate society with these figures. Even if those who compile these statistics will get angry, I insist on the necessity of a statistical examination at the level of the government and the ministry so as to estimate such assertions,” concluded Alexandru Danci.
